ORIGINS

From the Coast to Paso Robles

Launched in 1992, San Simeon takes its name from a dramatic stretch of California coastline where ocean fog, coastal winds, and marine-cooled vineyards helped define the brand’s early identity. Widely beloved for its premium, sustainably made wines, San Simeon has entered a new chapter with the opening of our estate winery and tasting room in Paso Robles’ prestigious Willow Creek District.

The Trident

Informed by the Ocean

Though the new estate lies 15 miles inland, the ocean’s presence remains central to our identity. The property’s limestone-rich soils are riddled with fossils and ancient marine sediment, reminding us that this ridgeline was once ocean floor. San Simeon’s Trident emblem honors that connection, symbolizing the ways in which our wines have been shaped by the power of the sea.

HERITAGE

Sustainability for Continuity

San Simeon is the flagship estate of Riboli Family Wines, founded in California in 1917 by Santo Cambianica, a recent arrival from Lombardy, Italy. After surviving Prohibition by producing sacramental wine, Cambianica’s family committed to building a sustainable business that would span centuries. Today, four generations later, all Riboli vineyards are certified organic or sustainably farmed, powered by solar energy, and irrigated with recycled water.
